sweet tater

homemade sweet potatoes for baby:

preheat oven to 400 degrees. scrub and rinse 3 sweet potatoes. roast on baking sheet for 45 minutes or until tender. peel potatoes and puree in blender (works best when hot). spoon puree into ice cube trays, place tray in plastic Ziploc. freeze.

*when baby is ready to eat:
pop 1 cube o'potato out and microwave (in glass or ceramic-no bpa plastic please) for 45 seconds (10 seconds if thawed overnight in fridge) or until warm to the touch. thin with breast milk or formula. watch baby savour every bite.

note:
if you've never made your own baby food you should try it. it's so easy and inexpensive. plus then you know exactly what your baby is eating.
